Dentures

Restore the appearance and functionality of a natural smile with high-quality dentures!

Dentures are removable prosthetics designed to replace missing teeth and empower you to eat, speak, smile and laugh confidently again.

Types of Dentures

Partial Dentures

In cases where enough healthy teeth are remaining, partial dentures may be used to replace any number of consecutive or nonconsecutive teeth. Partial dentures use a gum-colored base material to anchor replacement teeth. This base is attached to an existing, healthy tooth structure, using metal clasps that provide adequate support for the replacement teeth. Partials help protect surrounding teeth to create a strong and stable smile.

Full Dentures

When there are no remaining healthy teeth to provide support for prosthetic teeth, full dentures may be used. The denture base of full dentures is molded against the gum line, creating friction and suction that holds the denture in place.

With our skill, techniques and materials, most people will never know that you have full dentures! Customized acrylic or porcelain teeth closely resemble natural teeth, and your dentures will be custom-designed to compliment the shape of your face and lips.

Implant Dentures

Implant dentures use small titanium posts inserted into the gum line to mimic the root systems of missing teeth. Implant-supported dentures are securely anchored to dental implants surgically implanted in the jawbone. These implants consist of anywhere from 4 to 8 titanium posts that hold the dentures in place, creating a stable and permanent solution for replacing missing teeth.

Hybrid & Overdentures

Hybrid dentures and overdentures combine a custom, removable tooth replacement prosthetic with the increased comfort and stability of an implant denture. With an overdenture, two to four implant posts are placed below the gum line, and your current denture or a new prosthetic is fitted with attachment pieces. It’s then snapped into place over the top of the implant posts, creating a natural look and feeling of support. At night, you can remove the prosthetic for easy cleaning and comfort.

With hybrid dentures, five to six implants will be placed in the jaw. Unlike an overdenture, the hybrid prosthetic is screwed securely onto the implants and is considered permanent. The only time the denture will be removed is by our dental team for periodic cleanings. Hybrid dentures can allow for more effective chewing.

How it Works

It all starts with a complimentary consultation at our Jacksonville dental implant office. Your first visit is on us! You’ll meet Dr. Montoya and our team, and Dr. Montoya will perform a thorough smile exam with a CBCT scan.

We’ll sit down and discuss your needs and goals, and Dr. Montoya will create your own personalized treatment plan that helps you achieve a beautiful new smile. We’ll take precise impressions and measurements of your oral cavity to custom-design dentures that sit comfortably and snuggly in your mouth.

Once your dentures are ready, we’ll fit them to your mouth and make any necessary adjustments to ensure the perfect fit. Dr. Montoya will give you detailed instructions on how to care for your dentures and discuss next steps!

Am I a candidate for dentures?

If you have missing teeth due to decay, gum disease, injury or aging, dentures can be an effective and non-invasive solution for replacing your teeth.

When you visit us for your complimentary consultation, Dr. Montoya will perform a thorough exam of your smile and discuss your needs to help you determine whether dentures are the best treatment route for you. If they are, we’ll advise you on the right type of dentures for your case.
