Natural Bone Grafting for Dental Implants
Dr. Montoya received speciality training in Germany to be able to perform natural bone grafting for our patients!
Bone grafting is used to strengthen the jaw’s natural structure and create a strong and stable foundation for dental implants to be integrated. With natural bone grafting, we’re able to use your own bone instead of using other grafting materials.
What is natural bone grafting?
Bone grafting involves implanting bone material into the deficient areas of the jaw to strengthen the jawbone and create a stable foundation for dental implants to be placed. Bone grafting promotes natural bone regeneration and helps ensure that your dental implants last a lifetime.
It requires specialized training to be able to use a patient’s own bone for bone grafting. Most doctors have to use either synthetic bone material or donor material. We’re proud to be able to offer the advanced natural bone grafting technique, called autogenous grafting, to support your beautiful new smile!
Am I a candidate for natural bone grafting?
If you’re missing a tooth or teeth and are in need of dental implants but your jaw bone has been compromised (due to factors like tooth loss or injury), Dr. Montoya may suggest natural bone grafting.
What are the benefits of natural bone grafting?
Using natural bone has a number of advantages:
Lower risk of rejection
Using the patient’s own bone minimizes the risk of graft rejection, infection, or allergic reactions. Since it comes from your own body, there’s a high compatibility and low likelihood of the immune system rejecting the graft.
Enhanced bone quality
Natural bone provides an ideal foundation for new bone growth. It contains living cells and growth factors that promote the regeneration of bone tissue. This results in stronger, denser, and more structurally-sound bone, compared to synthetic or donor grafting materials.
Aesthetic benefits
Because natural bone grafts are your own bone, they blend seamlessly with the surrounding bone and result in a more natural appearance.
Long-term reliability
Using natural bone tends to provide long-lasting results. The regenerated bone is more likely to maintain its density and volume over time, ensuring the stability of the dental implants for years to come.
